The Dune Shed

This 230 sq.ft. Retreat is designed for a growing family out on Old Mission Peninsula. With numerous family members congregating in the summer months, everyone needs a place to be alone. Thus, the Dune Shed was proposed as an isolated practice room from the main cottage at the base of a woody bluff.

 

Materials used: Wood, Straw, Lime Plaster exterior, metal roof, recycled windows, hempcrete floor, earthen plaster finish.

Foundation system: 6x6 Black Locust posts with standard 2x12 joists.

Heating/Cooling systems: Wood stove for heat, natural ventilated windows to cool.
