Joe

a professor at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is a straw-bale expert, and has been teaching in Sustainable food systems and Green Building for 27 years. He has built one of the largest timber-frame and strawbale homes in Michigan, and has been living and farming with his family, for over 20 years, completely off grid. He has designed, built, and consulted on more than 11 straw bale buildings. Joe is responsible for providing both high-level expertise on the process of working with building officials to secure building permits in new townships who are unfamiliar with the building process. He is also our detail-oriented senior consultant for passive design and use of earthen plasters and finishes.
